How many CPD points?

Agents with at least three years experience who attend:

  • the entire day and pass the morning quiz earn 10 MARA CPD Points
  • the morning session only and pass the morning quiz earn 6 MARA
    CPD Points
  • the afternoon session only, earn 4 MARA CPD Points

In addition to passing the assessment component of the course program, agents must be present for 90% of the time allocated to the relevant session of the course in order to earn CPD points.

 

Who is eligible to register and earn MARA CPD Points?

Registered Migration Agents with at least three years experience as a registered migration agent.

What is the duration of the course?

Morning Session: 9:00 am to 12:45pm
Afternoon Session: 1:45 pm to 5:30pm

 

The Quiz

This consists of a multiple-choice test of 20 questions, which is undertaken at the end of the morning session. Participants must attain a mark of 75% in order to pass the quiz and earn MARA CPD points for the morning session. In the unlikely event that a participant fails to attain the pass-mark, at MPE's discretion, those participants will be given another chance to pass the quiz by going over those aspects of the material they initially failed to grasp.

 

How will the program be conducted?

MPE’s CPD Express course programs are strictly limited to a maximum of 40 people to ensure that you obtain a hands-on, personalised and practical learning experience. The presenters will use a combination of lectures, interactive case studies, role-plays and brainstorming techniques to stimulate thought, discussion and an interchange of ideas with the aim of augmenting your knowledge and professional skills.

 

Where will the courses be held?

Sydney


Our Sydney course programs will be held at the Migration Institute of Australia (MIA) Training Room, Level 3, 83 York Street, Sydney.

The MIA training room is located within the MIA National Office, a short five minute walk from Town Hall Station. The nearest cross streets are Market Street and King Street in the Sydney CBD. There are commercial car parking facilities nearby on York Street, Clarence Street and as part of the QVB Shopping Centre. If you are travelling from interstate or overseas and require accommodation, there are many hotels nearby within easy walking distance along the King Street Wharf and central CBD area.

Melbourne

Our Melbourne course programs will be held at the Monash University Conference Centre, Level 7, 30 Collins Street, Melbourne

The Monash University Conference Centre is situated near the corner of Spring and Collins Street. It approximately a 5 – 10 minute walk from Parliament Station. There are commercial car parking facilities nearby. If you register for a course in Melbourne and require accommodation, the Monash Conference Centre has discount rates with several hotels.
