OMARA's CPD Requirements

From 1 December 2009, the OMARA revoked the levelled CPD system, thereby enabling all agents to earn CPD points at any course of their choice. 1 OMARA CPD point can be earnt by attending a seminar or workshop that is 1.5 hours in length. Therefore, all agents can earn 10 CPD points if they complete an entire 2 day CPD Program with us. However, we strongly recommend that agents select one of our CPD Programs that best suits their level of experience and CPD needs so that they, and their colleagues, can gain the most benefit from the CPD that we offer. Please remember that in order to claim OMARA CPD points in a course, agents must attend at least 75% of the time allocated to each course in that Course Program for which they have registered.

Mandatory CPD         

While the OMARA permits every agent the opportunity to earn CPD points at any course of their choice, certain agents must still meet certain mandatory CPD requirements for repeat registration. Please note that all 4 mandatory activities are only offered in our 10 Point Basics Workshop CPD Program, while only 1 mandatory activity (Ethics and Professional Practice) is offered in each of our other CPD Programs.

Certain legal practitioners and accountants need only complete 1 day of CPD with us!

The OMARA permits certain agents who also practice in the legal and / or accounting professions to claim four (4) elective OMARA CPD points when re-registering if they provide proof of one of the following with their repeat registration application:

• a copy of a current legal practising certificate issued by NSW, VIC, QLD, NT or WA
  
  
• full membership of Certified Practicing Accountants Australia current at the time of making a repeat registration application
  
  
• full or fellow membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia current at the time of making a repeat registration application
  
  
• membership of the National Institute of Accountants current at the time of making a repeat registration application (retired members are not eligible).

This means that those agents who qualify for this exemption need only complete 6 OMARA CPD points with us in order to meet OMARA’s repeat registration requirements. We offer 6 OMARA CPD points in one day for only $750 as part of each of our Experienced, Economic Intensive and Sole Practice CPD Programs.
